Aimo Stefano Diana (born January 2, 1978 in Brescia , Italy ) is a former Italian football player who was used in the position of midfielder .

Career

Aimo Diana began his professional career in his hometown at Brescia Calcio . After three seasons and Brescia's relegation to Serie B , he played 1999/2000 for Hellas Verona in Serie A and reached a respectable ninth place with the team.

After a short return to Brescia Calcio, Diana moved to AC Parma in September 2001 , from which he was awarded to Reggina Calcio in January 2003 .

For the 2003/04 season, Aimo Diana went to Sampdoria Genoa , where he was a regular and high performer for three years. Due to his good performances in Genoa, he also recommended himself for the national team , in which he made his debut under Giovanni Trapattoni on April 28, 2004 in a 1-1 draw against Spain .

In 2006 Diana switched to US Palermo in exchange for Massimo Bonanni , Christian Terlizzi and two million euros . In January 2008 he was transferred to Turin FC , where he has a contract until 2011. In his second game for Toro , he scored his first goal for Turin against his old team Palermo.

In February 2010 Diana was loaned to AC Bellinzona until the end of the season.
