Massimo Bonanni (born June 10, 1982 in Rome ) is an Italian football player who was under contract with FC Lugano in the Challenge League from 2011 to 2013 .

Career

Massimo Bonanni began his career in the youth team of AS Roma , for whose team he was never used and in 2001 moved to the then third division AS Viterbese Calcio . The midfielder became an integral part of the team, but left the club a year later and signed with the Greek first division club Panachaiki . There, too, he made the leap into the starting eleven and moved back to his Italian homeland a year later. He found a new employer at the Serie B club Vicenza Calcio and was only able to secure relegation in his first season with the club in the playout games against US Triestina . In the 2004/05 season he scored eight goals in 38 games for Vicenza and again managed to maintain the league with the team.

Then the US Palermo took him under contract. Bonanni made his debut on August 28, 2005 in the away game at AC Parma for the club and scored his first goal in the top Italian division on matchday 9 in the home game against US Lecce . In January 2006 he moved to the league rivals Lazio Rome , where he could not prevail and signed six months later with Sampdoria Genoa . Even with the Genoese, the midfielder received few missions and went to Ascoli Calcio at the beginning of 2007 . Bonanni rose to Ascoli's regular player and top performer, but could not prevent relegation to Serie B.

For the 2007/08 season he was under contract with AS Bari and placed with the Apulians on the 11th place in the second-highest division. At the end of the season he left the club again and joined Sampdoria Genoa, where he could never prevail and was given to US Grosseto . With Grosseto he reached the play-offs for promotion to Serie A and was only barely defeated in two games against Brescia Calcio .

At the end of July 2009 Bonanni transferred to the Abruzzo club Pescara Calcio , where he signed for three years. He made his debut on the 1st match day of the 2009/10 season for Pescara when he was in the starting lineup in the 2-0 home win against Rimini Calcio and was replaced after 73 minutes.

At the end of the 2009/10 season, he was promoted to the second division with Pescara. In the play-off finals, the team prevailed against Hellas Verona . In July 2011 Bonanni was signed by FC Lugano from the Challenge League .
