Airman Basic

Airmen Basic of the US Air Force

Airman Basic (AB) is the lowest rank ( OR-1 ) in the US Air Force . The rank is followed by that of the Airman . Soldiers with the rank of Airman Basic are mostly still in basic training . The promotion to the Airman usually takes place after six months of service. Similar to the " simple soldier " of the Armed Forces of Airman Basic does not wear rank insignia, which means "Slick sleeve" (something like: him the nickname SlickSleeve ) are introduced.
