Akın Kanat

Akın Kanat (* 1966 in Izmir / Turkey ) is a translator of numerous German-language written works into Turkish.

Life

Akın Kanat was taken to Germany by his parents the year he was born , where they found employment as guest workers . The family lived here in Paderborn until 1983 and then returned to Turkey. Kanat graduated from Bonifatius secondary school with the qualification B and continued his education in the German department of the Aegean University in Izmir , which he completed in 1989. After military service in 1990, he found employment with various foreign trade companies in Turkey and then turned to his real passion in 2000: the German language. Akın Kanat now works - on behalf of well-known publishers in the country - as a translator of German books. Since then he has also been working as a freelance sworn translator.
