Academy for Cardiac Technology

The Akademie für Kardiotechnik ( AfK ) is an institution of the German Heart Center Berlin (DHZB) for the training and further education of medical specialists to become cardio technicians .

The AfK started operations in April 1988 and in 1991 it was recognized by the state in the state of Berlin.

Since 2008, in cooperation with the Steinbeis University of Bachelor -Studiengang Bachelor of Science degree in Cardiovascular Perfusion offered. The training and study programs in this form are unique in Germany.

The academy is headed by the cardio technician Frank Merkle.
