The Akademischen Blätter (Ak.Bl. for short) has been the association journal of the Association of German Student Associations since 1886 . They appear quarterly.
history
The forerunner of the Akademische Blätter was the Kyffhäuser newspaper , which had been published on November 2, 1881 and was close to the associations of German students. On July 1, 1885, the Kyffhäuser newspaper was discontinued. Thereupon, at the suggestion of its local chairman Rudolf Heinze , the then Kyffhäuser Association founded the Academic Papers as an association organ in 1886 , the first issue of which appeared on April 1, 1886. The place of publication was Berlin.
The Academic Papers were the first and for a long time the only corporate body that saw its focus in political reporting from universities and society, while other student bodies reported almost only on internal association processes.
Magazine today
The publisher is the Academic Association Kyffhäuser. The editors are Dominik Matuschek and Jörn Spindeldreher. The academic papers appear quarterly with a circulation of 5400 copies.
In addition to notices about the association, articles on politics, studies, culture, current affairs and opinion articles are published.
In addition to the print edition, there is also an online edition.
Frequency of publication
Semi-monthly from 1886 to 1929, monthly from 1929 to 1939. After the Kyffhäuser Association was dissolved in August 1938, the 53rd year of the Academic Papers were initially discontinued. After the re-establishment of the Association of German Students in 1951, the Akademische Blätter appeared again from 1952. From 1952 to the end of the 1960s they were published monthly and until 1985 every two months.
The academic papers have been published quarterly since 1986 .
