Akihiro Yamaguchi  ( Japanese 山口 観 弘 , Yamaguchi Akihiro ; born September 11, 1994 in  Shibushi , Kagoshima Prefecture ) is a Japanese swimmer and world record holder over 200 m chest on the long course.

Career

At the World Youth Swimming Championships in Lima in 2011 , Yamaguchi won four medals, including a gold medal in the 200m breaststroke with a time of 2: 11.70.

Yamaguchi set the world record for the 200 m chest on the long track on September 15, 2012 at the National Sports Festival of Japan with a time of 2: 07.01. He improved the previous record, swum by Dániel Gyurta , by 27 hundredths of a second.
