Akoupé is a city in the southeast of the Ivory Coast and is located in the Agnéby region , at a distance of about 142 km from Abidjan . It is considered to be the place of origin of the Ivorian dance style Coupé Decalé , which later developed into a very popular and widespread form of music and dance.
