AksyonTV was part of the TV5 Network, Inc. The station replaced the former station MTV Philippines on February 21, 2011 . On January 12, 2019, the station stopped broadcasting. The next station was 5 Plus , but it has a different focus.
AksyonTV was the first Filipino language news channel and the first to broadcast 24 hours.
