Active rear axle kinematics

Active rear axle kinematics ( AHK , not to be confused with the abbreviation for trailer coupling) describes the steering ability of the wheels on the rear axle of a motor vehicle (passenger car) in order to minimize the risk of skidding in the event of a sudden evasive maneuver ( all-wheel steering ).

Technically, this concept was BMW of the 8- series implemented (1989 to 1999). Since this was an extra subject to a surcharge (approx. DM 12,500), the system could not prevail.
