Cannabis - Trying Is Better than Governing is a Swiss comedy film from 2006. It is about a conservative Swiss Federal Councilor who discovers smoking weed , which turns his life upside down.

Federal Councilor Alois Mumentaler (played by Hanspeter Müller-Drossaart ) is in a crisis: He has problems with his wife Beatrice , who is trying to get a divorce, and his long-term prohibitive drug policy is failing. In addition, he is diagnosed with the eye disease glaucoma . After conventional medical treatment is unsuccessful, all that remains is - recommended by the ophthalmologist - to consume cannabis.
