Al-Naser Airlines ( Arabic الناصر للطيران, DMG an-Nāṣir li-ṭ-Ṭayarān ) is an Iraqi airline based in Baghdad and based at Baghdad Airport .

history

Al-Naser Airlines started its flight operations in 2005 and at that time operated exclusively for the armed forces of the United States . In 2009, civilian flight operations with a connection from Baghdad to Kuwait began.

Destinations

In addition to domestic flights, the company flies internationally from Baghdad up to three times a week to Istanbul and from Najaf twice a week to Beirut .

Trade in used aircraft

Between 2014 and 2015, Al-Naser Airlines bought a total of seven former Airbus A340s from Virgin Atlantic and one Airbus 321 and then immediately passed them on to Mahan Air from Iran. At the time of the transfer, Iran was on the sanctions list of western states, so that it was not possible for Iranian companies to purchase western-made aircraft directly from the manufacturer.

fleet

As of June 2019, Al-Naser Airlines no longer owns any aircraft of its own.
