Alain Cadec (born June 21, 1953 in Saint-Brieuc , Côtes-du-Nord ) is a French politician of the Union pour un mouvement populaire .

Life

Cadec studied economic and social management at the University of Rennes 2 . After graduating, he worked in the insurance industry.

politics

Cadec became a member of the Saint-Brieuc City Council in 1995 and was then first deputy mayor of Saint-Brieuc from 2001 to 2009 and also vice-president of the Saint-Brieuc municipal association. He was also a member of the General Council of the Département Côtes-d'Armor from 2001 to 2008 , and from 2004 he was the leader of the opposition in the General Council.

Cadec has been a member of the European Parliament since 2009 , where it belongs to the EPP group. Cadec is also one of the four Vice-Chairs of the Fisheries Committee in the European Parliament . Cadec is also a member of the Regional Development Committee and the delegation for relations with South Africa . Cadec is a deputy in the special committee against organized crime, corruption and money laundering and in the delegation for relations with Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo .
