Alain Dessons (born September 8, 1939 in Villiers-le-Bel ) is a former French football player and coach.

Career

Dessons began his career as a goalkeeper at SO Montpellier . In the 1959/60 season he was used for the first time in two games. In 1961 he celebrated with the team promotion from the second to the first division , but was not involved in it with a single mission. In the two following first division seasons he came to a total of 23 missions. After relegation in 1963, he was able to prevail as a regular goalkeeper. In 1969 he moved to league rivals Sporting Toulon , which he left again in 1970 when he moved to AC Arles . There he played another four years. Then he ended his active career in 1974 after 23 first and 388 second division games. Immediately afterwards Dessons became the team's head coach. From 1978 to 1979 he coached the lower class club Stade Beaucaire for a year . From 1986 he was again a trainer in Arles. He held this position until 1992, after which he remained assistant coach until 2005.
