Alan Lidiard

Alan Bernard Lidiard (* 1928 ) is a British theoretical chemist and solid-state physicist.

He was a student of Charles Alfred Coulson in Oxford, with whom he also received his doctorate . He became a professor in the Theoretical Chemistry Department at Oxford University and at the AERE (Atomic Energy Research Establishment) research center in Harwell.

His specialty was diffusion in crystalline solids.

In 1988 he received the Faraday Medal (IOP) . He is a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences in Göttingen .
