Alan Kenneth Mackenzie Clark (born April 13, 1928 - September 5, 1999 ) was a British historian and politician of the Conservative Party (Tories).

Clark attended history lectures at Christ Church (Oxford) from 1946 and also received a third-class honors degree . He later did private research and began publishing articles and books on military history.

Political life

From 1974 to 1992 Clark was a member of the British House of Commons . Under Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher he became Under-Secretary of State for Labor in 1983, Minister for Trade in 1986 and Minister for Defense Affairs in 1989.
