Alardus († 1087 ) is one of the saints of the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

Alardus was a monk in Hasnau monastery and was appointed abbot of Achin or Anchin (aquiscinctum) near Duais in Flanders by Bishop Gerard II of Cambrai in 1079 . It is reported from his work there that he performed his office with such humility that he never allowed his subordinates to call himself lord or master, but always regarded himself as the least of the brothers. He died in 1087.

The Sint Alardskerk in Serooskerke in Zeeland is dedicated to him.
