Albaro is an elegant residential area in the Italian port city of Genoa , east of its center on the Bisagno River. The territory of the district is that of the municipality of San Francesco d'Albaro, which was annexed to Genoa in 1873.

Up until the 18th century, Albaro was the classic vacation spot for the wealthy people of Genoa who spent the summer here. With the incorporation into the Ligurian capital, the quarter underwent profound structural changes that made it one of the most renowned residential areas in the Great Genoa of the fascists .

Albaro belongs to the Municipio VIII Medio Levante . The districts themselves are Albaro , Lido , San Giuliano and Puggia , which together have a population of 30,163.
