Albena Dimitrova

Albena Dimitrova (born 1969 in Sofia ) is a Bulgarian author who lives in France and writes in French.

Life

Albena Dimitrova emigrated to France shortly before the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 without knowing a word of French. She studied economics and worked on privatization in the former Eastern Bloc countries and the corruption that went with it.

She has been working as a dramaturge and writer since 2006. From 2007 to 2012 she was director of the “Festival of Contemporary Dance Sofia” (SDW).

I write stories in French that I experienced in Bulgarian. I kept my accent.
