Albert Schweitzer facility
The Albert Schweitzer facility is a small park in Darmstadt .
The 700 meter long and 40 meter wide park was built in the second half of the 19th century and was named after Albert Schweitzer in 1968 . It separated the old route of the Main-Neckar Railway from the parade ground.
The Wilhelm Haas Monument is located in the northern part of the park .
In 1877 the privateer Valentin Noack donated a small pavilion ( Ludwigstempel ) for the park. The old railway line was abandoned in 1912. The small pavilion was deliberately destroyed in 1995.
