Albert Bachmann (gymnast)

Albert Bachmann (born November 8, 1906 , † after 1938) was a Swiss gymnast .

Albert Bachmann won the silver medal behind the German gymnasts with the Swiss team at the 1936 Olympic Games . The Swiss team consisted of Eugen Mack , Michael Reusch , Eduard Steinemann , Walter Bach , Albert Bachmann, Georges Miez , Josef Walter and Walter Beck ; The six best individual results on each device were taken into account for the team evaluation. In the individual competition for the all-around event, Bachmann came in 13th with 107.502 points. On the pommel horse , Bachmann won the bronze medal with 19.067 points behind the German Konrad Frey and Eugen Mack.

At the World Gymnastics Championships in Prague in 1938 , the Czech team won the team title ahead of the Swiss, who had four gymnasts from 1936 with Bachmann, Beck, Mack and Reusch; also included Siegbert Bader , Hans Nägelin , Guglielmo Schmid and Leo Schürmann to the Swiss squad.
