Career

On September 11, 1932 he stood at 2-2 against Club Français Paris on the field, which he was called up in the first game in the new league. From then on he was the undisputed regular player and was also seeded when his club reached the cup final in 1933 ; the game against city rivals RC Roubaix was decided 3-1, which brought Dhulst the first title win of his career.

Then he remained loyal to the club, even if he could not win any more titles. The outbreak of war in 1939 and the resulting cessation of the official competition forced him to interrupt his career. Until then, the player had played in all 194 first division games and had not missed a minute of play at a time when substitutions and substitutions were not possible; he is the only professional who managed to do this. In the jersey of CO Roubaix-Tourcoing , he returned to the first division for the season 1945/46, but only ran twice and ended his career after a total of 196 appearances without a goal in the top division.
