Albert Leon Whiteman Memorial Prize
The Albert Leon Whiteman Memorial Prize is a prize awarded by the American Mathematical Society (AMS) for achievements and work on the history of mathematics .
The prize was founded in 1998 by Sally Whiteman in memory of her late husband Albert Leon Whiteman and has been awarded since then by the American Mathematical Society. His prize money is $ 5,000 and the first award ceremony took place in 2001. It was initially awarded every four years, but since 2009 every three years.
