Albert Menzel

Albert Menzel , also called Albertus Menzelius , (* unknown; † July 9, 1632 in Ingolstadt ) was a German doctor and professor of medicine at the University of Ingolstadt .

His father was the doctor, poet and botanist Philipp Menzel (1546–1613). After studying medicine at the University of Ingolstadt, Albert Menzel became the personal physician of Duke Wolfgang Wilhelm von Pfalz-Neuburg . From 1603 he held a professorship for medicine at the University of Ingolstadt.

In 1615 he published the poetic works of his father Philipp Menzel. Albert Menzel also wrote poems in Latin himself . Albert Menzel continued the herbarium and his father Philipp Menzel's book on the flora of the Ingolstadt area , which appeared in 1618.
