Albert Post

Albert Post (born October 29, 1896 in Hesel-Südermoor ; † September 7, 1992 in Westerstede ) was a German politician ( FDP ). From 1947 to 1970 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

Post attended elementary school and then did a two-year training course in drainage and drainage in Wiesmoor. After further training in agriculture in several companies, he was drafted into the army and fought in the First World War. After the war he worked in agriculture again. In 1925 he bought his own farm. After the Second World War he was mayor of the Westerstede community from October 1947. At that time he was the deputy state chairman of the FDP in Lower Saxony.

Act

Post was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament for the first six electoral terms, from April 20, 1947 to June 20, 1970. From 1947 to 1951 he was chairman of the housing and settlement committee. He was then from 1951 to 1967 chairman of the committee for construction and settlement. In the parliamentary group he was deputy chairman of the FDP parliamentary group from 1953 to 1957 and from 1958 to 1967. In his last electoral term, he was also the age president of the Lower Saxony state parliament.

For his services, he was awarded the Great Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Great Cross of the Lower Saxony Order of Merit.
