Albert Fahrtisen

Albert Ludwig Fahrtisen (born November 8, 1901 in Basel , † September 29, 1998 in Bern ) was a Swiss petrograph . He was the son of the Basel forensic scientist Adolf Fahrtisen (1857-1916).

Routeisen studied geology, mineralogy and petrology in Basel, Zurich and Bern. In 1927 he received his doctorate. He taught at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest and at the University of Bern .

The route iron diagram (QAPF diagram) is named after him.

Routeisen's estate in the Bern Burger Library “only contains geological diaries, directories on thin sections, photos, maps and plans”.
