Albert Voigts (resistance fighter)
Albert Voigts (born June 4, 1904 , † June 30, 1943 in Sachsenhausen concentration camp ) was a German resistance fighter and engineer.
Life
Albert Voigts was a qualified engineer by profession. Together with Hans Sussmann , Elfriede Paul and Walter Küchenmeister, he formed his own small group within the resistance circles of the Berlin Red Orchestra , which was in close contact with the artistic circles around Oda Schottmüller and Kurt Schumacher . Through Voigts, Hans and Else Sussmann also found this resistance group.
At the beginning of October 1942 Voigts was arrested by the Gestapo and taken to Sachsenhausen concentration camp . The Gestapo had no evidence to accuse him of writing leaflets, and the co-defendants did not testify against him despite the torture, which is why there were no legal proceedings. Voigts died in a concentration camp at the end of June 1943.
