Alberto Borregán i Rodríguez (born August 16, 1977 in Barcelona ) is a former Spanish roller hockey player for FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team .

Career

He started roller skating when he was four years old. His first club was Cerdanyola HC , at the age of twelve he joined Union Esportiva d'Horta in 1989 , with which he stayed until 1994. Then he moved to FC Barcelona. With the departure of Jose Luis “Negro” Paez , “Beto”, his nickname, became team captain. With Barcelona he won numerous national and international titles.

At 1.85 m and 85 kg, the relatively large and heavy "Beto" played an outstanding role in the national team . With the Spanish team won the European championship three times, in 2001 as captain also the world championship against Argentina. His last of 67 international matches was in 2004.

He retired in 2012 after playing 896 games for Barcelona.
