Alberto Denti di Pirajno
Alberto Denti di Pirajno (born March 7, 1886 in La Spezia , † 1968 ) was a Sicilian writer, doctor in North Africa and restaurateur.
Denti di Pirajno belonged to the Italian aristocracy and worked for decades in the Italian colonies - first as a personal physician and later as head of the cabinet of the Duke of Aosta , the viceroy of Italian East Africa . From 1941 to 1943 he was governor of Tripoli .
His collection of stories The Girl on the Dolphin gives deep insights into the world of the Arabs, Berbers and Black Africans of the former Italian colonial and mandate areas from Tripoli to Abyssinia .
His novel Mara Lumera is set in the Sicilian mafia family.
