Alberto Insúa

Alberto Álvarez Insúa , (* 1885 in Havana , † 1963 in Madrid ) was a Spanish writer .

Life

Insúa was the son of Waldo Álvarez Insúa, the founder of the Galician newspaper "El eco de Galicia".

In 1898, Insúa's family left the Spanish colony of Cuba due to the Spanish-American War and settled near Madrid. From around 1905 Insúa began to write for various newspapers and magazines; for “ El País ”, “El imparcial”, “Blanco y Negro”, “La esfera y nuevo mundo” and others. During the First World War he was a war correspondent for " Diario ABC " in Paris . His experiences there during this time also inspired him to write his novel “De un mundo a otro”.

Insúa died in Madrid in 1963 and found his final resting place there.
