Alberto Rondalli (* 1960 in Lecco ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

From 1989 Rondalli worked at the theater with Eugenio Barba (productions between 1990 and 1992, inter alia, of Sceriffo 2 by Renzo Casali and Harold Pinter pieces) and attended film courses at the "Ipotesi Cinema" by Ermanno Olmi ; he studied a. a. with Krzysztof Kieślowski . His first movie Quam mirabilis was released in 1993, although it was classified as extremely interesting, but due to its length of around an hour, it was not offered a rental opportunity. After Padre Pio da Petrecilna , who was filmed two years later and was conceived for television, Rondalli presented Il derviscio at the Locarno Film Festival in 2001 (where he also received an award), the script of which was based on the novel Il derviscio e la morte by Mesa Selimovic . Once again, very positive reviews were hardly matched by the number of cinema-goers. In 2007 the film drama L'aria del lago and in 2013 a scenic documentary about the life and work of Giuseppe Garibaldi was released .
