Alberto Trabucchi

Alberto Trabucchi (born July 26, 1907 in Verona ; † April 18, 1998 ) was an Italian legal scholar, university professor, judge and advocate general at the European Court of Justice .

Life

Trabucchi studied law and received his doctorate from the University of Padua in 1928 . There he then worked as an assistant at the Institute for Legal Philosophy and later became a private lecturer in civil law . From 1935 to 1942 he lectured in civil law at the University of Ferrara , was appointed associate professor in Venice in 1941, and from 1942 was a full professor of civil law at the University of Padua. From 1945 he headed the Institute for Civil Law there. He worked as a judge at the European Court of Justice from March 1962 to the end of 1972. From 1973 to 1976 Trabucchi was Advocate General at the European Court of Justice.
