Alberto Vázquez Gurrola

Alberto Vázquez Gurrola (born April 20, 1940 in Guaymas ) is a Mexican actor and singer .

Vázquez came to Mexico City with his family at the age of six . He studied painting at the Academia de San Carlos and in La Esmeralda , but began performing as a singer at the age of seventeen. In 1961 he sang his first recordings on the Orfeon label . At the Musart label , he had successes with titles such as Olvídalo , 16 toneladas , Significas todo para mi , La felicidad llegó , Perdóname mi Vida , Uno para todas , Bambina Bambina , Esta noche mi amor , Desencadena mi corazón and El Pecador . He was instrumental in establishing rock music in Mexico, but was also known as an interpreter of romantic ballads, corridas, mariachi and country singers . His discography includes more than a hundred titles. With José Alfredo Jiménez he wrote songs like Ella and El Jinete .

As an actor he appeared in theater revues and made his film debut in Benito Alazraki's Al Ritmo del Twist . The 36 films in which he participated include a Edad de la Violencia , Mi niño Tizoc , Caín, Abel y el otro , Cuando los hijos se van and Romeo contra Julieta . In the 1990s he played alongside Angélica María in the telenovela Agujetas de Color de Rosa . With the actress Isela Vega , Vázquez has a son, Arturo Vázquez , who also became known as a singer.
