Albrecht Kossel Prize

The Albrecht Kossel Prize is a prize for biochemistry that has been awarded by the Society of German Chemists since 2014 . It is named after Nobel Prize winner Albrecht Kossel and endowed with 7,500 euros.

Award winners

  • 2014 Roland Lill for his outstanding and innovative contributions to the elucidation of the biosynthesis of iron-sulfur cluster proteins, especially in mitochondria and in the cytosol (laudation)
  • 2016 Johannes Buchner
  • 2018 Annette Beck-Sickinger for her research on peptide-protein interaction
  • 2020 Marina Rodnina for her research on the function of the ribosome
