Albrecht Knauf

Albrecht Knauf (born November 30, 1940 ) is a Dortmund entrepreneur. He was the founder and until 2011 co-owner of the airline Eurowings and is the sole shareholder of Knauf Interfer in Essen and managing director of Knauf Perlite .

He is the son of Karl Knauf , who together with his brother Alfons Knauf founded a gypsum pit in 1932, from which the Knauf Gips company, which is now active worldwide, developed. Albrecht's brother Baldwin Knauf and his cousin Nikolaus Knauf joined the company management as personally liable partners in 1969; Albrecht became a limited partner in 1970, together with six other descendants of the founders . He later became the managing director of the subsidiary Knauf Perlite and in 2004 acquired the steel company once called Stinnes Interfer , which he transformed into Knauf Interfer ; 2013 he also earned a share of 8% on its competitors Klöckner & Co . Since March 2012, he and his family have also owned the Harpen Immobilien company .

Knauf was Vice President of the Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund from November 20, 2005 to November 23, 2008 and formed the executive board together with Reinhard Rauball and Reinhold Lunow .
