Albufera Valenciana is a beach lake (a sweetened lagoon ) on the coast of the Gulf of Valencia in the Valencian Community in eastern Spain . It is the main part of the 21,120 hectare Parc Natural de l'Albufera de València ("Valencian Albufera Natural Park"). The natural biodiversity of the nature reserve allows a wide variety of flora and fauna to flourish and observe all year round. Though it once was a saltwater acted lagoon, it was in the 17th century by the dilution due to irrigation and canals in the estuary led, and by the increasing size of the sand banks in freshwater converted.
