The language alege (Alegi, ugbe and uge; ISO 639-3 is as) is a near-extinct Nigerian African language , which in the state of Cross River is spoken.

It belongs to the Bendi group of cross-river languages and is only spoken by 1,200 people.

Together with the Gayi [bzy] language and the other Cross River languages, the Alege forms the language group of the Eastern Benue Congo languages .
