Alejandro Dolina (born May 20, 1945 in Baigorrita , Argentina ) is an Argentine presenter, musician and writer.

Life

Dolina was born in Baigorrita ( Province of Buenos Aires ) and grew up in Caseros, a middle-class suburb of Buenos Aires.

In the early 1970s, Dolina worked as a copywriter and published his first articles in the magazine " Satiricón ". During this time he worked with the comic book writer Carlos Trillo .

When Satiricón was discontinued by the military dictatorship in 1978, Dolina switched to "Humor" magazine. During these years Dolina, who himself was a moderate Peronist, wrote essays on honor, love, friendship and was the founder of the myth of the "Gray Angel" by Flores . The Gray Angel was the fictional writer Manuel Mandeb, for whom Manuel Evequoz was a model. The stories were published in 1987 in the "Crónicas del Ángel Gris" and were later the template for a musical.

With the return of democracy in 1983, Dolina worked as a presenter of the late show "Demasiado tarde para lágrimas" (Too late for tears) on the radio. In 1987, he was voted the best humorist in a poll on a prime-time television show.

In 1988 he started his own television program “La Barra de Dolina”. In 1990 and 1991 the television show aired once a week while his daily radio show paused. In 1992 both programs were renamed "El Ombligo des Mundo". In 1993 the television broadcast was discontinued, while the radio broadcast was given its current name, “La venganza será terrible” (Revenge Will Be Terrible). In 1991 Dolina was nominated for the “Konex Prize” for best television or radio presenter.

His last TV shows, especially “Bar del Infierno”, were less successful.

Dolina has always been known for his extensive knowledge of Argentine tango and is quite a good pianist and singer. He was a key figure in reviving tango through his speeches, but also by linking familiar melodies with their titles and authors in the final section of his radio show. He produced and sang his "criollic" opera "Lo que me costó el amor de Laura" (What I paid for Laura's love).
