Aleksandrs Stankus (born July 13, 1907 in Aizpute , † December 23, 1944 in Džūkste ) was a Latvian football player .

Career

Aleksandrs Stankus played club football in Latvia for Olimpia Liepaja and FK ASK Riga .

Between 1930 and 1937 he played 17 times for the Latvian national football team . He made his debut for the national team in August 1930 during the Baltic Cup against Estonia . With Latvia he won the Baltic Cup in 1932 and 1933 .

Aleksandrs Stankus fought as a Latvian volunteer in the Latvian SS Association during World War II . He was reported missing after the Kurland Kessel Battle .
