Alessandra Montesano (born June 13, 1998 in Casalmaggiore ) is an Italian rower .

Career

In 2016 she competed in Trakai with Alice Rossi at the Junior European Rowing Championships in double sculls. They reached the A-final and finished there in fifth place. She then took part in the 2016 Junior World Championships in Rotterdam and was part of the crew of the Italian four-four alongside Ottavia Ravoni , Elisa Mondelli and Giulia Mignemi . Together they missed the A-final and finished second in the B-final, so they finished the competition in eighth place.

In the following year, she took part in the U23 rowing world championships for the first time and competed in Plovdiv at the 2017 U23 world championships for Italy in a single. She could only qualify for the B final, where she finished the race in sixth and last place. In the final statement, she took twelfth place in the single competition. In 2018 she took part in the 2018 U23 World Championships in Poznan , where she competed for Italy in a double scull with Valentina Iseppi . They qualified together for the A final and were able to secure the bronze medal there behind the British boat and the German boat.

In 2019 she should take part in the rowing world championships for Italy for the first time . In the city of Linz she was part of the crew of the four-wheeler without a helmsman at the 2019 World Championships together with Valentina Iseppi , Alessandra Patelli and Sara Bertolasi . Together they could only qualify for the B-final and finished there in sixth place, so that they finished twelfth in the final accounts.
