Alexander Ernst von Riesemann

Alexander Ernst von Riesemann (born November 7, 1795 in Reval ; † 1841 ) was a Russian major general .

Life

Alexander Ernst von Riesemann began studying law at the University of Dorpat in 1812. In 1814 he moved to the University of Heidelberg, where he became a member of the Corps Curonia. In September 1815 he began an officer career in the Russian cavalry. In 1826 he was promoted to Rittmeister, in 1830 to lieutenant colonel and in 1832 to colonel. In 1838 he took command of the Guard Uhlan Regiment. In 1839 he was promoted to major general.
