Alexander Kidd (* 19th century ; † 20th century ) was a British tug of war .
biography
Alexander Kidd was a member of the Liverpool City Police's tug-of-war team at the 1908 Olympics . They won their first competition against the United States. After the Americans lost their first train, they protested the Liverpoolers' shoes. However, this was rejected, which is why the Americans withdrew from the competition. In the semifinals, Liverpool defeated the Swedes and advanced to the final. There the team was defeated by the City of London Police team and thus won silver.
