Alexander Klapproth

Alexander Klapproth (born December 19, 1956 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss electrical engineer . He was a professor at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) until 2017 and has been head of the iHomeLab smart home research laboratory there since 2008 .

Career

Klapproth studied electrical engineering and graduated in 1982 as a qualified electrical engineer (Dipl. El. Ing.) From the ETH Zurich .

After completing his studies, Klapproth worked in the private sector and became a lecturer at the HSLU in 1994. In 1999 he became head of the HSLU research laboratory CEESAR (Swiss Center of Excellence for Embedded Systems Applied Research), from which the iHomeLab emerged in 2008 with the research focus on building intelligence . The laboratory has 25 employees (as of 2016).

Klapproth has been a member of the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL) since 2011.
