Alexander Nunner

Alois Alexander S. Nunner (born February 2, 1985 in Graz ) is a former Austrian basketball player .

career

Nunner went through the junior model Kapfenberg, and made the jump into the Styrian Bundesliga squad. During the 2004/05 season he moved within the Bundesliga to the BSC Raiffeisen Fürstenfeld Panthers .

In 2005, the six-foot-tall player began studying business at Monmouth University in the United States and played for the basketball team at  the college in New Jersey . By 2009 he played 114 games for the team and scored an average of 4.9 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. During his time at university, he became Monmouth's team captain.

In 2009 Nunner, who also played for the national team of his home country during his career, returned to Austria and Fürstenfeld. For the Styrians he played in 36 Bundesliga games during the 2009/10 season and on the way to the runner-up he achieved an average of 2.3 points per match. In the 2010/11 season he strengthened the Güssing Knights and posted an average of 6.6 points as well as 2.3 basket assists and two rebounds in 31 Bundesliga appearances. His competitive sports career ended in 2011, Nunner had already gained a foothold in the renewable energies sector during his last Bundesliga season in Güssing and stayed in this industry. In 2011 he moved to the United States where he worked in the branch of an Austrian company.
