Alexander Sergejewitsch Uspenski ( Russian Александр Сергеевич Успенский ; born April 25, 1987 in Moscow , Soviet Union ) is a Russian figure skater who starts in a single run.

At the age of five, Uspenski saw other children playing sports and wanted to do the same without knowing that it was a figure skating group. His mother Svetlana Igorewna and his father Sergei Borissowitsch were surprised, but in the end they did not stand in the way of their son's wish. His brother Vladimir , who is two years younger than him, is also a figure skater.

Uspenski's greatest role model is Alexei Jagudin . He also admires Yevgeny Pljuschtschenko and Johnny Weir . He is good friends with Russian figure skaters Sergei Dobrin and Sergei Voronov .

Uspenski trains in Moscow with Natalja Dubinskaja and Leonid Raizin . He starts for SC Moskvich , Moscow.
