Alexander Vadimowitsch Shcherbizki ( Russian Александр Вадимович Щербицкий ; born March 1, 1966 in Sevastopol , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Russian rear admiral . He's since 2015 commander of the naval base Baltijsk the Baltic Fleet .

Life

Shcherbitsky graduated from the Black Sea Naval War College "PS Nakhimov" in 1988 and was then used as commander of an anti-aircraft missile battery on the anti-submarine warship "Tolkowy". Until 1993 he served on the coastal defense ship “Bezukoriznenny” as commander of the missile / artillery armament (GA-2) and mine / torpedo armament (GA-3) combat sections. From 1993 to 1996 he was first officer on the coastal defense ship "Krazny Kawkaz" and from 1997 to 1998, after completing higher officer courses, on the guided missile cruiser "Admiral Golowko". From 1998 to 2000 he was in command of the coastal defense ship “Pytliwy”. After attending the Naval War Academy from 2000 to 2002, he was deployed to 2006 as commander of the guided missile cruiser " Moskva ". From 2006 to 2008 he served as deputy commander of the 30th surface ship division of the Black Sea Fleet . From 2008 to 2010 he was an officer auditor at the Voroshilov Military Academy of the General Staff and after graduation became commander of the 12th surface ship division of the Baltic Fleet. He was later appointed Deputy Chief of Staff of the Northern Fleet and Chief of Staff of the Kola Mixed Forces Flotilla (2012-2015). By decree of the President of the Russian Federation on May 5, 2015, Shcherbitsky was appointed commander of the Baltiysk naval base.
