Alexandra Sanford (born January 5, 1999 in Columbus , Ohio ) is an American tennis player .
Career
Sanford prefers to play on hard courts. She primarily plays on the ITF Women's Circuit , where she played her first professional match in January 2014.
In February 2016, she reached the quarterfinals of the Dow Corning Tennis Classic , a $ 100,000 tournament. There she was defeated by her compatriot Robin Anderson in three sets with 7: 5, 6: 7 5 and 4: 6. She reached her best world ranking position so far in singles in October 2016 with rank 517 and in December 2014 with rank 885 in doubles.
She has not been in the world rankings since June 2018 and played her last professional tournament in September 2018.
