The Alexandria Museum of Art is an art museum established in 1977 in the city of Alexandria in the US state of Louisiana .
After a temporary closure and modernization, it was reopened in 1998.
The museum has an extensive collection of contemporary Louisiana art and the largest collection of folk art in the north of the state.
