Alexei Jakubowitsch Ustajew ( Russian Алексей Якубович Устаев ; born April 12, 1960 in Tashkent ) is a Russian banker , financier and CEO of KAB Viking .

Life

In 1982 Ustajew graduated from the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute with the degree of "civil engineer". He has worked at Lenhydroenergospetstroy since 1984 and helped build numerous flood protection structures. He was appointed general manager of the Soviet-Finnish company Viking and chairman of the Vera cooperative in 1987. In 1988 he founded the first Russian commercial bank, Viking , of which he is chairman to this day.

In 1994 he received a diploma from the Inter- Ministerial Institute for Professional Development in St. Petersburg , University of Economics and Finance, major in finance and credit, with a major in banking. From 2004 to 2007 he studied economics at the St. Petersburg University, which he completed with a dissertation on the subject of observation of clients as a system element of credit issuing by banks in 2007.

Cooperation with the industry

His main interest lies in investment finance for companies in the real sector of the economy. Within the bank he developed a system of services for corporate clients - industrial companies - for the purpose of protecting companies against non-corporate risks.

Chess promotion

He has been active as a patron of chess competitions and the promotion of young chess since 2004. From 2004 to 2006 he was President of the St. Petersburg Chess Federation. Since 2007 he has been President of the Association of the Chess Federation for the Northwestern Federal District , one of the largest chess federations in Russia with 10 regions. It finances chess competitions at various levels, from competitions for children to chess tournaments for seniors and the participation of Russian players in international chess tournaments. Since 2009 he has taken over the sponsorship of the chess school of the Northwestern Federal District, with the assistance of the grandmasters Yevgeny Soloshenkin and Alexei Shirov .

Public and social work

Since 1989 Ustayev has been a member of the Council of the Bankers Association of the Northwest. He has been an academic at the St. Petersburg Engineering Academy since 2004. From 1995 to 2009, he paid grants to families of disabled people who have to look after children, and later to families of disabled people. He has supported the Ballet Drama School of LV Jakobson and the Orphanage No. 8 in the Vyborgsky District of St. Petersburg since 2004. He has also provided financial aid to the GI Turner Children's Orthopedic Research Institute and the KK Grota Boarding School for the blind and since 2006 visually impaired children. In 2011, Alexei Ustaev founded bank scholarships for gifted students of the leading institute for advanced studies of St. Petersburg. Since 2011 help has been provided to the regional children's clinical hospital, the regional Volosovsky orphanage No. 1 and the "Baby" refuge.
