Alexei Wassiljewitsch Alelyukhin
Alexei Wassiljewitsch Aleljuchin ( Russian Алексей Васильевич Алелюхин ; born March 30, 1920 in Kessowa Gora , Tver Governorate ; † October 29, 1990 in Moscow ) was a Soviet fighter pilot .
Life
Alelyuchin was born into a Russian working class family. He worked in an office supply factory. In 1939 he graduated from the " WP Tschkalow " military aviation school . In the German-Soviet War he destroyed 40 aircraft alone and 17 more in the group in 601 combat flights.
He was two-time Hero of the Soviet Union (August 24, 1943 and November 1, 1943) and two-time holder of the Order of Lenin . In 1942 he became a member of the CPSU . In 1948 he graduated from the Frunze Military Academy and in 1953 the General Staff Academy .
Alelyukhin retired as major general in 1985 . His grave is in the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow .
